Ashfield Express Bus Service

Ashfield College provides a subsidised private bus service, to facilitate Ashfield College full-time 5th & 6th year students.

Our bus service is designed to provide convenient access to Ashfield College from areas in Dublin that don’t have direct public transport routes to Dundrum.  In previous years our collection points have included Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip, Lucan, Clondalkin, Tallaght, Ballycullen, Templeogue, Castleknock, Blanchardstown and the Naas Road.  Please let us know on registration if you are interested in this service as routes are determined by student demand.

Schedules and pickup points will be confirmed directly with students who have registered for a seat on the bus.  The initial bus schedule for 2018/19 is outlined below and will be finalised with registered students prior to the commencement of the school year.  To secure your seat for 2018/19 please ensure that you have registered with us by calling (01) 490-4050 by 4pm on Friday 23rd August 2018, registrations after that time cannot be guaranteed a seat.

Students registered on this year’s bus will receive an email confirming the relevant pick-up time and location by Thursday, 30th August 2018.

The Ashfield Express will commence service for the 2018/19 academic year on Wednesday 5th September 2018.

To avail of this private bus service you must be a registered full-time student at Ashfield College for the 2018/19 academic year.

There are limited seats on this service so it is vital that you indicate your interest in the service at the time of registering.  Registered students are notified by email when the final route and pick up points are confirmed just prior to the commencement of the academic year, registered students will be notified by email prior to induction.  Due to the nature of the service this process cannot be completed until close to the commencement of term.

The bus will only collect and drop off and pre-arranged stops and those stops will be determined by the areas of greatest demand along the route.  Individual collection arrangements are not possible as this will prevent the bus from reaching its destination in a timely fashion.

Your seat for the academic year can be secured by paying for the entire academic year (30 weeks) upfront or secured with a deposit of €150 with the balance paid in monthly installments by direct debit.

The bus is heavily subscribed each year and as a result it is not possible to secure a one-way or partial seat arrangement.  Each student wishing to use the bus is required to booking a place for the entire year and this seat is not transferable.

The bus service will not operate during Leaving Certificate exam weeks in June 2019 and students using Ashfield College as their exam centre are required to make alternative arrangements for transport during this period.

The following stops are confirmed and details have now been sent to all students booked on the service, if you have indicated that you require a seat on the bus but have not yet received details of your stop by email please call 01 490-4050 for details of availability on either service as there are very limited numbers of seats remaining.
