Junior Certificate Business Higher weekly Grinds

Location: Ashfield College, Dundrum

Our experienced teacher, Philip Curry, delivers a grind that demystifies the Business syllabus and prepares students for the Junior Certificate exam.  He also offers an excellent focus on avoiding pitfalls and strategy for approaching the exam paper.

TEACHER’S PROFILE
Philip Curry B. Comm. (Honours), Higher Diploma in Education, N.U.I.G.
Subjects: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics.

Philip has over 20 years’ teaching experience and has worked for 10 years’ for the State Exams Commission as a Leaving Certificate Examiner. He is a published author of a Leaving Certificate textbook and is also a contributor to the publication ‘Business Studies Monthly’.

ENGLISH (H)

Junior Certificate Higher Level English Weekly Grinds

Location: Ashfield College, Dundrum

Our Junior Certificate English Higher Level Grind classes give students an exceptional overview of the English syllabus.  Students will be equipped with knowledge of the key elements of the course in advance of the exam in June 2018.

All registered students will receive 75 minutes of tuition per week over 30 weeks and a copy of our renowned Ashfield College notes.  Class sizes are restricted to ensure focused tuition for registered students.

As well as syllabus tuition, teachers will offer guidance on study skills and exam strategy, ensuring that students are well prepared to achieve their potential in the Junior Certificate exam.

French Higher Level Junior Cert Weekly Grinds

Location: Ashfield College, Dundrum

Students attending this grind will receive a tailored set of study notes, exclusive to The Academy of Grinds at Ashfield College. This set of notes provides invaluable insight into what you should revise in the weeks leading up to the exam.

Nicky Dowling

BA (Hons) French & German UCD, PGCE

Subjects: French & German

Nicky is a dynamic and inspirational teacher of modern languages, who graduated with the highest grade ever achieved for the PGCE from the University of Manchester. Nicky has over 20 years’ experience teaching both French & German to Leaving Cert level, and has worked at Ashfield College since 1997. During her time at Ashfield College she was Director of TEFL, where she was in charge of curriculum and teaching. Nicky is an extremely exam-focused, practical and enthusiastic teacher who inspires her students to achieve their maximum potential in the State Exams.

 

IRISH (H)

Junior Cert Higher Level Irish Weekly Grinds

Location: Ashfield College, Dundrum

Students attending this grind will receive a comprehensive set of notes written by our expert, Sinéad Trainor. Sinéads knowledge of the curriculum and marking schemes coupled with her love for the Irish language means students both enjoy their classes and achieve exceptionally high marks in the state exams.

Steve Bracken

Subjects: Maths and Physics

Steve has been teaching for over twenty years in Coláiste Eoin, Stillorgan and has taught evening and revision courses in Ashfield College for more than five of those and still loves his job! He has held positions as Head of Maths, Head of Physics, IT Coordinator, as well as being an Assistant Principal in Coláiste Eoin. This amount of experience coupled with his enthusiasm for his subjects and for passing it on to students has resulted in high levels of positive feedback from Ashfield students over the years.
