Peter J Jackson has been teaching Higher Level Leaving Certificate Biology and Chemistry for the last 40 years and his students have delivered results well above the national average. He is the author of Leaving Certificate textbooks ‘Exploring Biology’ (C J Fallon) and Chemistry Revision book ‘Essentials Unfolded Chemistry’ (Celtic Press) and an iBook ‘Exam Solutions Plus’ an interactive LC Biology questions and answers book.
Peter is one of the most experienced Examiners of Leaving Certificate Biology Higher Level and has been marking for more than 25 years.
He is also a Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) Associate (Chemistry) teaching teachers the latest advances in chemistry teaching. In addition he has delivered practicals and lectures at Chemical Education Conferences as well as for the Department of Education and Science on Laboratory Safety and has lectured on ‘The Biology of the Burren’ at several ISTA conferences.

Nicky is a dynamic and inspirational teacher of modern languages, who graduated with the highest grade ever achieved for the PGCE from the University of Manchester. Nicky has more than 20 years’ experience teaching both French & German to Leaving Cert level, and has worked at Ashfield College since 1997. During her time at Ashfield College she was Director of TEFL, where she was in charge of curriculum and teaching. Nicky is an extremely exam-focused, practical and enthusiastic teacher who inspires her students to achieve their maximum potential in the State Exams.

With fourteen years teaching experience, including being a senior member of the teaching staff in Coláiste Árainn Mhóir, Donegal, Matt is a dynamic and talented teacher who makes every effort to make Irish accessible for all of his students. Matt has vast experience of teaching the Irish for Primary Teaching course and has recently worked with Hibernia College in their teacher-training programme. He is very much aware of the challenges students face when learning the language but is confident in his ability to equip students with the tools and confidence they need to excel in the Leaving and Junior Certificate Gaeilge.

He has held positions as Head of Maths, Head of Physics, IT Coordinator, as well as being an Assistant Principal in Coláiste Eoin. This amount of experience coupled with his enthusiasm for his subjects and for passing it on to students has resulted in high levels of positive feedback from Ashfield students over the years.

John Winters has been teaching Maths, Physics and Applied Maths to Leaving Certificate (Higher Level) since 1993. Over the years his students have achieved exceptional grades in the state examinations. His knowledge of the curriculum and the imagination which he puts into his classes has been a source of huge benefit to students embarking on their studies of the Project Maths Course. He is particularly well known for the excellent revision courses which he has given in Maths and Physics. During his career he has taught over 250 revision courses to students in different areas throughout Ireland. John holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics which demonstrates his passion for Mathematics
